Peace on Earth Holiday Card

Happy Monday!

Or is that an oxymoron? :-)

I'm sure there are some people out there who enjoy Mondays. I'd like to say that I'm one of them; but no, not this gal! Talk to me on Friday :-)

I AM excited to show you my card today. I thought that, with my (lack of) photography skills, there would be no way that the glittery snowfall on this card would show through.

But I was wrong. I love how this photo turned out, although it doesn't show its full glittery effect.

I'm also happy that I finally got to use my new Tim Holtz Tree Line stamp set. What an amazing collection of images to create that perfect pine forest look. I stamped the trees in the back using Stampin' Up's Mellow Moss ink, then used Always Artichoke on the "closest" trees to give a sense of depth.

I used Early Espresso cardstock for the deer dies and adhered them with foam pop dots, while Cream cardstock was used for the base and snowy hills. The card is framed also in Early Espresso cardstock before adhering it onto a Cream card base.

I thought that the sentiment was very appropriate for this peaceful scene, stamped also in Early Espresso ink. I then tapped my Versa Mark pen around the page to drop medium onto the cream panel surrounding the trees, then heat set iridescent embossing powder on it.

Voila! Another Christmas card for my holiday stash.

No matter what day it is when you happen to visit my blog, enjoy and thanks for dropping in.

Supplies:
Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous 2015 Tree Line

  2. Love your winter scene Susi and your sweet signature :-) I found you and your blog when I saw your DT gorgeous pine cone card on Freshly Made Sketches! I love your clean, crisp style and how you mix your products. I am a SU Demo, but like to use other company products as well.

I definitely want to try your glittery snow technique. I have all the supplies :-)

TFS and I plan to watch for your wonderful blog. Do you have a SCS gallery?

    Hugs, Nancy

  5. Hi, Susi! Well, I love just about any day (since I'm retired)! Haha! But I know what you mean and remember it well when I was working. I love this beautiful card with the great winter scene and really love those sweet deer! And it's really nice when you can capture some of the sparkle in a card like this one. I definitely see some of it, and it looks like it's snowing. And what beautiful trees with the added depth you've achieved. So glad to see you on SCS too. Hugs!
